Tea playdough is a fun sensory playdough – scented with chai tea! This is a no bake playdough and uses only 5 ingredients, so it’s very easy to make. It’s the perfect playdough for tea parties!
How to Make Tea Playdough
- 1/4 c powdered chai tea (here’s an powdered chai tea latte mix)
- 1/2 c cornstarch (cornflour)
- 2 tbl flour
- 2 tbl warm water
- 2 to 2 1/2 tbl vegetable oil
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the water, mix again. Then add in 2 tablespoons of oil. If it’s still crumbly, add in more oil, a bit at a time (usually I add in up to another 1/2 tablespoon).
We brought out our play tea set and used the tea playdough to make “cookies.” The kids shaped the cookies, while I enjoyed a (real!) warm cup of tea!
We have put wrapped this playdough and put in the fridge and used it for a day or two. But the older it gets the more crumbly it gets. If you add a little vegetable oil, it will stick together a bit more easily.
Although all the ingredients are food, I don’t recommend eating it – all that cornstarch would taste pretty awful!
