This mess free star painting craft works well for toddlers and babies, and it’s a good way to get in some sensory painting with hands for kids who do not like to get messy! I will note that this is not mess-free for the person who takes the stars out of the bag.
Mess Free Star Painting
- Paper stars (red, white, and blue)
- Washable paint
- resealable plastic bags
- scissors
Cut out several stars for each child doing the project. I have a hard time cutting stars, so I use star template. Place the cut stars into a resealable plastic bag. Add red, white, and blue paint. Press the air out of the bag, and give it to the kids!
Let them paint through the bag – moving the paint around, covering the stars in the bag. All three of my kids liked this – baby, preschooler, and first grader!
Once they had painted their stars, I had to take them to of the bag to dry — this part was definitely messy! But I used washable paint and it washed right off my hands. Then let the stars dry!
