Dads clean. Dads like clean houses.
Whether it’s celebrity parents or us ordinary parents, people still seem to be surprised when dads are involved – especially when they are taking on the cleaning! Umm, in my house my husband does a lot (ok, probably most) of the cleaning.
I got to attend a discussion with Anthony Anderson – and the dads behind the Swiffer’s new video! – and we had an interesting time talking about how society views the roles of moms and the rolls of dads. Doyin Richards of Daddy Doin’ Work even had a photo go viral simply by fixing his daughter’s hair while wearing his baby. If I had a photo go viral every time I did something for one of my kids while wearing a baby, I would, well, break the internet.
I liked hearing about (and then seeing!) Anthony Anderson’s cheer he does with his kids before practice. All the dads on the panel had lots to share about ways they make raising kids and keeping the house clean and all the other stuff parents balance. And all the ideas were great – but the thing I really took away is that it’s the same, whether you’re the mom or the dad – we’re all parents, taking care of our kids, and our homes.
Swiffer’s Cleaning Index shows that Dads today are pitching in nearly two times more than their Dads did, and half of Dads today say they do most of the cleaning in their homes.
Swiffer has worked to make products aimed to help busy families clean quickly and effectively so they can spend time on things that really matter. Their wet jet cleaned up our dining room floor in a breeze! That’s the #SwifferEffect!
