When our sponsor, Eveready, suggested a Pajama Jam Reading Party, I was immediately on board! What could be more fun than pajamas, reading, forts, and flashlights? I totally love their no-stress philosophy (and downloadable instructions) for planning your reading party. We are all about easy parties (like this Lego party!). Parties should be fun, right?
Step 1: Theme
Our theme was a Dr. Seuss fort. We read Dr. Seuss over and over, and this seemed like a fun way to make our reading special!
Step 2: Make a Plan
We decided to do it on a Saturday afternoon, under a card table! We kept it very casual and small, given that we would be under a card table!
Step 3: Invitations
For invites we walked over to our neighbor and asked him to join us! An email or a phone call would also be about my speed for this no-stress party!
Step 4: Party Prep
We took the stress out of the party-planning and went with simple – and I think the kids loved it! I set up a card table, threw a blanket over it to cover 3 sides, and taped streamers up over the fourth.
For food, we did “Hop On Pop-corn” (a bowl of popcorn with a “corny” name!). Easy!
We brought our Dr. Seuss books, and added our flashlights to read by!
Step 5: Party Time!
The kids had fun reading with the flashlights inside our tent.
