One reason to love Fall is the beautifully colored leaves on the ground – they make the best (and cheapest!) craft supply ever!
Use your leaves in one of our favorite Fall crafts and create a leaf crown!
Make your Fall Leaf Crown
Making the crown is simple, you’ll need:
- Leaves! Pick a variety of colorful ones.
- a strip of construction paper – Cut an 8 1/2 x 15 piece of paper into several 2-3 inch strips
Of course, the best way to start this craft out is with a nature walk! Or, if your backyard is anything like mine, just walk outside and grab a handful of leaves.
Lay out the strip of paper. Then start decorating!
Tape the leaves to the paper. It works best to tape the stem of the leaf to the paper. Although as you can see in the pictures, my toddler (with some help) pretty much put the tape everywhere. This fall craft works well for us because there is no wrong way to do it!
Once the leaves are taped on, measure the leaf covered strip around your child’s head. Mark the place where the ends overlap and fit snugly enough to stay on their heads. Remove the crown and staple the ends where you marked them.
Then hand the crown to the kings and queens of the forest!
