Do you also have a bunch of plastic eggs lying around? Grab some LEGO bricks and try this super easy sound experiment!
- LEGO bricks (we love this brick block – affiliate link)
- plastic eggs
Get out the bricks and the eggs. I shook one of the empty eggs first, and then asked the kids what they heard (nothing). Then I said, “what if we add one LEGO brick?” And we talked about it and tried it.
We put different amounts of LEGO bricks into different eggs and compared their sounds. Which led to a lot of shaking and dancing!
We repeated this process adding more LEGO bricks. At some point, they realized that adding more LEGO bricks actually made the sound softer, rather than louder. For us, that was at 17 bricks.
We also estimated how many bricks could fit into our eggs, and then counted to see how accurate we were. Ours held 21!
