My toddler loves to create ornaments. Our tree will be decked in painted pinecones, felt trees covered in buttons, and twisted pipecleaner candy canes. I wanted to share this list of ornaments toddlers can make – at least with a little help! (links to Amazon are affiliate links)
Pinecones!
- Paint pinecones
- Glue pompoms to pinecones
- Decorate pinecones with glitter glue.
Ball Ornaments
- Shaken paint globe ornaments
- Get ball ornaments in a plain color and add holiday stickers
– let your toddler decorate!
- Fill Clear Plastic Fillable Ball Ornaments
- Fill your own I Spy Ornament balls
- Fill the balls with lots of sensory items!
Other Classics (Craft Sticks and Pipecleaners!)
- Snowflake ornaments from paint craft sticks and add buttons
- Paper plate Christmas tree
- Cut seasonal shapes from craft foam for your toddler to decorate
- Twist red and white pipecleaners together to form a candycane
- Let your toddler color a printable ornament, and then cut it out for them!
- Decorate Unfinished Wooden Ornament Cutouts
- Let them try cutting! Make shredded wrapping paper ornaments
- Decorate card stock
- Spray painted macaroni ornaments
- Or use colored pasta
- Colored glue and seasonal cookie cutters into Christmas shapes
Salt Dough Ornaments

- Cookie cutter salt dough ornaments – let your toddler cut the shape and paint
