Busy bags are engaging activities for your kids that are quiet and that fit into a bag. So a Thanksgiving Turkey Busy Bag is just the thing to keep the kids happy while you cook the big meal!
Making the Turkey Busy Bag
This turkey busy bag was very easy to make. All you need is paper in a variety of colors, scissors, a marker, glue or tape and, if you want, googly eyes.
Cut a circle from brown construction paper to be the turkey’s body. Then draw a smaller circle on the body to be the turkey’s head. You can also cut little turkey legs from the brown paper.
Cut out a beak and a wattle and glue them onto the head. Then cut several feathers in different colors. I cut them into feather shape, but you could just cut rectangular strips to keep it even simpler. Add the feathers and the legs to the turkey by taping them to the back.
Add in a pile of decorative feathers in colors matching the feathers. Your child can then pair the decorative feathers with the corresponding colored feather on the turkey. You could also do this with colored pompoms. Or mix pompoms and feathers!
